  • Daniel J. Wahnon

    BA (Hons) FCCA
    FOUNDER & CEO

    Daniel is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. A highly accomplished and seasoned Accountant with an impressive track record spanning over 25 years working in Big 4 accountancy firms and smaller international firms.

    In late 2014 Daniel decided to make the jump by himself and set up Acumus Accountants. Throughout his career, he has honed his skills in accounting for all types of businesses, auditing small and medium-sized enterprises, and demonstrating proficiency in establishing new business systems. Moreover, Daniel is highly skilled in Gibraltar taxation, drawing from extensive exposure gained throughout the years. He is also adept at managing complex financial processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    He possesses a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree focused on Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University. In addition, he spent over ten years post qualification lecturing locally in subjects such as taxation, auditing and financial accounting in order to assist pupils in achieving their ACCA qualifications.

    Daniel is a dedicated family man, proud father of four wonderful kids. He is a passionate individual and brings to the table not only a wealth of experience in parenthood but also a dynamic history as a former football player. His love for the game has evolved into a fulfilling role as the current coach of a youth team, where he is committed to instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

  • Philippa Baldwin

    BA (Hons) FCCA

    SENIOR AUDIT & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

    Philippa is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, with many years’ experience in audit, accountancy and regulation, and has been at Acumus Accountants as an Audit Manager since 2022.

    

After graduating with a business degree from Liverpool John Moores University, Philippa relocated to Gibraltar in 2002 and trained for the ACCA with one of the Big Four Accountancy firms. She gained extensive experience working on a variety of different types of business, including investment companies, funds, small family-owned businesses, and banks. Eventually moving away from audit, and after gaining more than 10 years’ experience, Philippa joined the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission obtaining valuable regulatory knowledge by initially managing the supervision of the Audit industry in Gibraltar. Moving within the Commission, she undertook the role of Financial Controller and subsequently as a Resolution and Compensation Specialist, assisting with the establishment and administering of the Gibraltar Deposit Guarantee Scheme and the provision of a resolution framework. 



    With a solid academic record and her significant industry experience, Philippa also lectures part-time at the University of Gibraltar, covering business and accountancy modules.

  • Paul Gabay

    BSc (Hons) MSc ACCA
    AUDIT MANAGER

    Paul completed a Bachelor Honours degree in Music Technology (BSc Hons) from the University of Hertfordshire and a Masters of Science (MSc) in Music Information Technology from City University London after which he spent several years working for the Gibraltar Government in its London offices.

    Once he returned to Gibraltar he spent seven years working for Lloyds Bank as a Relationship Manager and completed his Certificate in Financial Advising (CeFA). At the beginning of 2016 he made the decision to change career and move to accounting after starting his studies towards the ACCA, working for 3 years at the Hideaways Club as an Account’s Assistant. In 2019, Paul moved to Acumus as an Account’s Assistant, progressed to Audit Manager in 2022 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) at the beginning of 2023.

    Paul is a father of four boys and loves to travel. He dedicates a lot of his free time to rugby as a fan, player and coach of his son’s teams. He also enjoys bouldering, surfing, trekking and snowboarding.

  • Sean Gilbert

    ACCOUNTS MANAGER

    Sean has been an integral part of Acumus Accountants since 2015, joining immediately after graduating with a degree in (BA Hons) Accounting and Finance from Leeds Beckett University.


    Having embarked on his professional journey right out of university, Sean has accumulated a wealth of experience across diverse domains. His expertise encompasses local and international taxation, accounts preparation, audit and non-audit assurance services, payroll services, bookkeeping, and management accounting.


    Sean's proficiency extends to a broad spectrum of accounting software, including platforms like Sage and Xero, showcasing his technical prowess and adaptability in navigating contemporary financial tools. His continuous dedication to staying abreast of industry advancements positions him as a valuable asset within the Acumus Accountants team.

  • Hazel Sene

    CAT
    PAYROLL MANAGER

    With over 25 years’ experience in management accounting and payroll services, Hazel is a Certified Accounting Technician with plenty of experience in numerous areas in these fields. Starting her journey in a Big 4 company she was immediately exposed to a wide variety of clients from different industries and learned from the best in the fields.

    During her tenure in this Big 4 firm, she transitioned to the central operations department where she worked as Human Resources Manager for 5 years. This opportunity provided her with further training, and she soon qualified as an NLP Business Practitioner.

    After gaining further knowledge from other job opportunities in the industry, Hazel started at Acumus Accountants in September 2022 and is our payroll expert whilst also assisting the team in other services such as Auditing and Accounting.

    Hazel is happily married and mother to two wonderful boys who are her pride and joy.

  • Sarah Tubridy

    LLB (Hons)
    AUDIT & ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

    Sarah studied Law at Leeds Beckett University (formerly Leeds Metropolitan University) and graduated with an LLB Hons. Shortly after graduating, she was accepted into The Washington Center in Washington D.C. for a four-month long internship - a once in a lifetime experience which she will forever be grateful for. After returning back home to Gibraltar, Sarah gained almost 10 years’ experience in several fields, including insurance, banking, regulation, financial services, law, and accounting. Sarah joined Acumus Accountants in September 2021 as an Audit and Accounts Assistant as well as assisting with the firm’s compliance procedures.

    Sarah is happily married and enjoys juggling work-life and her two young children.
